In the Fall of 2010, the CSTL established and populated the Faculty Innovators advisory body to take the place of the two CSTL associates groups. This move was a logical extension of two trends: (1) the convergence of ideas emanating from the Teaching Associates and Technology Associates, and (2) the new opportunities to investigate methods of enhancing teaching, learning, and technology with respect to Course Redesign. Consisting of members of each academic college plus Kent Library, University Studies, and the CSTL professional staff, the Faculty Innovators work with the Director and the Faculty Associate to develop and implement strategies to improve student learning outcomes associated with specific initiatives. Each initiative has a dedicated Faculty Innovators Subcommittee. The Subcommittees/Initiatives include Course Redesign, Undergraduate Teaching Assistants, Communications, Large Class Scalability, and Best Practices and Research.
